Balham Gail’s is characterised by a play in contrast of materials and light; the natural timber tones sit sharply against the polished brass elements, the deep blue walls acting as an intermediary to the small pockets of light found across the shop.

This is aimed at addressing the basic principles that make-up Gail’s a belief in the simplicity and raw nature of the material that has however been refined and perfected over time.  The design utilises curved edges to introduce a feeling of softness to the space.

With an overall warm material palette, the shop invites the user to explore the various spaces carved out of the building fabric, creating a range of possible seating areas.
