This project transformed a tired end-of-terrace Victorian house in Frithville Gardens, Shepherd’s Bush into a contemporary 21st century family home.
The work saw the partial demolition of an unsympathetic two storey extension, and the construction of a new terraced addition to create open plan living spaces at ground level including a tiered kitchen, dining and lounge space leading directly onto the courtyard garden.
A new master suite takes advantage of the enlarged floor plate at first floor, comprising walk-in wardrobes and an en-suite bathroom with sunken bath. The upper storeys provide four further bedrooms including a guest suite in the loft conversion, enjoying panoramic westerly views.
At the upper levels the staggered form provided a private terrace for the rear bedrooms, the garden is extended all the way up to the new guest suite loft conversion, utilising planters and green roofs.
