Gail’s Bakery Bankside

The Stirling Prize nominated, and RIBA Award winning Neo Bankside development by Rogers Stirk Harbour adjacent to Herzog & de Meuron’s extension to the Tate Modern, is the site for our latest artisan bakery for Gail’s.

The design takes its lead from the expressive structure and bold colouring of the building, complemented by the use of tactile materials such as slate and timber to soften the hard geometries and create a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Its most striking feature is the ceiling grid formed of 100 triangles, constructed from 89 black mild steel nodes and 189 Tulipwood struts that have been lovingly crafted by Weber Industries.
