Glenburn Stables site progress

Construction work progresses at pace on our project to convert this stunning 18th Century stable complex in the Scottish Borders into two guest apartments.

The building is Grade C listed and on the heritage buildings at risk register. We have been working closely with the local authority and private owners to ensure the structure is sensitively restored and can be enjoyed for years to come.

Currently works are being undertaken to stabilise the “rubble” walls which will later be protected by a layer of lime render known as harling. The roofs are also being demolished and replaced as were structural unsound. New slates will give the appearance of a traditional building, but reinstated to modern standards including the incorporation of “bat tiles” to provide habitats for roosting bats.
