20 May SFTS Bed Pods

Continuing our partnership with Shelter from the Storm, Holland Harvey was given a brief to create a set of sleeping pods that could be inserted into the existing dormitories, with the aim of creating more robust, generous & private sleeping areas for 36 guests.

Hh architect Ashleigh James said;

At the heart of the design is comfort, dignity, and robustness.  The pods are made from stained plywood, which is both functional and warm, and each pod has space for personal possessions, a socket for phone charging & a light for reading. They are designed with generous head heights & wide ladders for ease of use and open sides with fabric blinds to allow guests to control privacy levels, while keeping the pods temperate by promoting air circulation.
