Work Experience

We love being involved in mentoring and working with young aspiring architects, so we were delighted when Zion-Judah from @kingjohn_school contacted the practice and asked to complete his week of work experience with us in July.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience and to test out possible career paths, and during his time here, we gave Zion a insight into how an architecture practice like Holland Harvey works. Like our architects, he attended studio and products meeting, a design charrette, and designed a café from a brief.

We all thoroughly enjoyed guiding Zion through the design process, offering up tips and tricks on designing and applying for university as well as being blown away by his already impressive CAD skills, which you can view here. It made it even more worthwhile hearing from him how much he had enjoyed the week, and we were thrilled when he asked if we would be open to keeping in touch!

We’re really excited at the chance to be involved in Zion’s journey, hopefully along the way we will be able to offer up some advice and support that may contribute to him becoming an architect one day!
