Hooke

London, UK

Hooke is an advanced medical clinic offering its clients a proactive, preventative approach to healthcare.

The clinic is set over three floors within a prominent building within the Mayfair Conservation Area. It comprises workspace, meeting rooms and staff facilities alongside consultation rooms, clinical assessment and treatment spaces. The basement contains a physiotherapy gym, sauna and ice bath.

The clinic utilises pioneering scientific innovation and world-class technology. It has a “maverick ambition to disrupt the outdated, reactive, one-size-fits-all medical thinking where symptoms dictate treatment”.

We, therefore, took a hospitality-first approach and designed spaces to reflect this progressive approach to medicine by creating an intimate, comfortable environment for clients and practitioners alike. Warm, natural materials such as timber and clay plaster balance the aesthetic of the sharper, cooler clinical spaces.

The design celebrates the fine Georgian architecture of the building. Early concept drawings envisioned consultation spaces reminiscent of high-end hotels and workspaces that enjoyed plentiful natural daylighting.
