Ludgate Hill

Office to Net Zero Aparthotel Conversion on Ludgate Hill.

Working with developer Hubcap, Holland Harvey is charged with converting an existing under-utilised office building within the City of London into The Ludgate, a new aparthotel concept.

Aiming to set a new standard for sustainable retrofit, Holland Harvey is sensitively working with the existing historic fabric to upgrade the building to be an exemplar of sustainable retrofit. The project is targeting BREEAM Excellent and a 35% reduction in on-site carbon emissions.

“Globally, the existing building stock accounts for a huge proportion of carbon emissions,” says Simon Ringer, Partner and Head of the Bridges Property Funds, “so we’ve always been interested in finding ways to retro-fit under-used buildings to make them more sustainable and economically useful.

The project is currently awaiting planning approval.

Templeton Place is a terrace of seven Victorian townhouses in Earl’s Court, west London, converted into a hotel in the 1970s. The project seeks to undertake the complete refurbishment of the existing 160 bedroom hotel.
