Paris Baguette Battersea Power Station

Holland Harvey delivered Paris Baguette’s flagship store, set within the Grade II* listed Battersea Power Station.

Holland Harvey chose to celebrate the on-site production and skilled art of the patisserie’s process, providing a visual connection to the finishing room through the back-lit glazed screens creating a dialogue between the customer and the production process

The studio developed a considered material palette and design language for the store that built upon the existing brand, to create a new identity for their UK roll-out. The design references the site’s industrial art deco heritage:  the existing structure was left exposed, whilst joinery was carefully cut around protected tiled columns.

The industrial context is elevated through intricate timber joinery, rust-coloured leather upholstery, oak-framed fritted glass screens and metal shelving to display the products. Surfaces were kept simple to provide a backdrop to the heritage features, with polished plaster walls and reflective textured tiles, layered with elegant wall lights to soften the dining areas.

The design had to follow strict tenant guidelines and Holland Harvey managed a rigorous approval process set by the landlords. The design and construction processes were delivered within tight timeframes to ensure the store was completed and open for the launch of the power station. The store has been incredibly successful and was the highest grossing F&B unit within the first month of opening.
