Hello Vet

London, UK

Hello Vet is the flagship location for a new veterinary clinic brand based in London. Reflecting Hello Vet’s mission, "Treating pets and people better," the clinic’s design plays a fundamental role in delivering on this promise.

As the inaugural clinic and central hub for Hello Vet’s envisioned network of local high-street practices, the design enables pet owners to conveniently access high-quality veterinary care, complemented by specialised facilities for more complex treatments.

The thoughtful layout features consultation rooms, procedure and preparation areas, dedicated dental and imaging suites, and a welcoming reception designed with distinct waiting spaces for cats and dogs. Additionally, the clinic offers a comfortable co-working area for clients, providing a supportive environment for pet owners during their visits.

Transparency is at the heart of Hello Vet’s approach, setting it apart from traditional veterinary clinics where many procedures occur out of view. This openness is reflected in the clinic's efficient and intuitive layout, co-created through close collaboration between Holland Harvey and the Hello Vet team. Strategic glazing enhances visibility and maximises natural light throughout.

Functionality and aesthetics harmoniously coexist, with hygienic, easy-to-maintain finishes integrated seamlessly into an architectural design. By incorporating essential clinical equipment into the interior architecture, and using warm, inviting materials and a carefully balanced colour palette, the design authentically conveys Hello Vet’s nurturing ethos.

Sustainability has been prioritised through thoughtful material selection, including Smile Plastic countertops crafted from 100% recycled and recyclable plastic and Tarkett vinyl flooring, chosen for its durability, hygiene, and alignment with circular economy principles. This flooring solution can be reclaimed and reused, reinforcing Hello Vet’s commitment to eco-conscious practices.

Collaboration was central to the project’s success, with Holland Harvey coordinating multiple specialist elements to ensure cohesive delivery. Bespoke lighting in reception and clinical areas was developed in partnership with There’s Light, complemented by integrated mechanical and ventilation systems essential to clinical operations. Extensive specialist infrastructure, including oxygen and anaesthetic services and radiation shielding, was carefully integrated. Attention to acoustic detailing prevented noise transfer to adjacent residential units, enhancing the overall experience for pets, clients, and neighbours alike. Close coordination with contractors and specialist joiners ensured seamless implementation of client specifications and equipment integration.

The clinic has received an enthusiastic response, praised by visitors for its welcoming, spa-like atmosphere—a refreshing departure from traditional veterinary environments, creating an inviting space for pets and their owners.
